We will be covering a handful of topics concerning shielding. The aim is to broaden the depth of knowledge in the industry when it comes to options for dose reduction and specifically the impact of different attenuating materials in order to make ALARA initiatives more effective and successful.

We are pleased to have Paul Saunders as our keynote speaker this year. Paul has over 48 years of nuclear experience. After working in several Radiation Protection and Radioactive Waste roles for 16 years at a U.S. PWR, he entered the consulting field and ahs provided technical support and mentoring to Radiation Protection and Radioactive Waste programs at over 80 domestic and international nuclear facilities and organization in 14 countries. He has authored or co-authored over 100 related technical documents for the IAEA, EPRI, Canada’s Chalk River Laboratories, and the technical arm of Japan’s nuclear regulatory agency. For his part in the NPO User’s Group Meeting, Paul will be presenting concepts that can support optimization of a radiation shielding program.
